Business Manager, Finance
JOB SUMMARY
The Business Manager, Finance plays a strategic and operational role in enabling financial insight across subscriber-focused business units. This role focuses on financial planning, reporting, financial modeling, and business performance analysis — facilitating data-driven decision-making and cross-functional alignment between Finance and operational teams.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and planning cycles aligned to business performance and strategic goals.
- Prepare Annual Operating Plans (AOPs) and multi-year plans, including time-sensitive rolling forecasts.
- Evaluate actuals vs. forecast with variance analysis, especially in subscriber tenure, upgrades, downgrades, and rate plans.
- Support business teams by providing budgeting frameworks and model assumptions.
Financial Modeling
- Design and manage multi-year financial models to forecast subscriber and business performance.
- Develop tools for monitoring and analyzing KPIs to optimize planning and resource allocation.
- Conduct business case analysis on new marketing or retention initiatives.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end subscriber and financial reports to business unit owners and leadership.
- Build dashboards and custom reports that support subscriber retention metrics and operational goals
- Prepare and present insights and recommendations at monthly business reviews and forecast updates.
Business Partnering
- Act as a liaison between operational units and Accounting, ensuring alignment in reporting and financial goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Loyalty & Retention, Marketing, and Call Centre teams
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business Administration, or Economics
- CPA designation (or equivalent) preferred
Experience
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis
- Background in subscriber-based business models (preferred)
- Experience presenting to and partnering with senior management
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel for complex financial modeling and analysis
- SQL proficiency (mandatory) for querying and data mining
- Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity through detailed modeling
- Effective communicator who can translate financial insights for non-financial stakeholders and present to senior management
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
