Financial Analyst
JOB SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, building and maintaining subscriber forecasting models, analyzing results and reporting accurate subscriber information to enable effective evaluation of business performance while acting as a liaison between functional areas and the Finance department.
JOB DETAILS
Accountabilities
Reporting:
- Compile and deliver periodic subscriber, financial, and performance metric reports.
- Provide detailed variance analysis on actuals vs. forecasted figures.
- Support month-end close activities, including tracking key metrics for automotive business units and the overall subscriber base.
- Monitor and manage accruals and reversals, offering clear explanations for deviations based on price/volume factors.
- Prepare reports and recommendations to support business performance evaluation and strategic decision-making across new and preowned automotive units.
- Develop and present materials for weekly and monthly management meetings.
- Assist with ad-hoc and periodic reporting, including reforecasting and period-end analysis.
Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth variance analysis on financial and operational reports.
- Support business units with ad-hoc analysis to evaluate overall business health or specific project performance.
- Provide Lifetime Value (LTV) analysis to support automotive contract negotiations, including scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
Modeling:
- Design, implement, and maintain tools for subscriber data management and analysis.
- Develop and refine forecasting models and performance metrics to enhance predictive accuracy.
- Contribute to the development of predictive models to support strategic planning and operational efficiency.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Level of Education
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration or economics
- Recognized accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA or equivalent)
- Advanced knowledge in analysis, building complex financial models and data mining using SQL is necessary
Job Related Experience
- 3-4 years of relevant experience
Skills and Background
- Ability to create complex, multi-year, financial models
- Familiarity with subscriber-based business and KPIs
- Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel is a must have
- Advanced-level skills in SQL a must have
