Programming Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
As part of the Programming Strategy & Development team, the Programming Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Programming department through project management, special event programming initiatives, and strategic planning. This role will work collaboratively with programming directors, producers, programmers and hosts in meeting the daily needs of the department, ensuring that Programming objectives are met.

Accountabilities
Strategy & Planning:
- Contribute to programming content strategy, with a focus on audience growth and engagement.
- Audit programming content regularly to assess overall performance, provide feedback to senior leadership.
- Analyze listener data and audience segmentation to inform programming planning.
- Collaborate with SiriusXM US to ensure that programming initiatives are in line with overall corporate objectives.
- Oversee editorial content calendar, ensuring that key moments and events are captured and proactively planned.
- Work closely with programmers, producers and hosts to maximize guest opportunities and specialty programming.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams (PR, Marketing, etc.) to optimize programming priorities.
- Evaluate guest and event coverage opportunities, both reactively and proactively.
- Research and assist with booking guests for appearances, with consideration for timeliness and relevance for programming across Music, Talk, Comedy and Sports.
- Manage special projects as needed.
Relationship Management
- Cultivate positive relationships with content partners, attend regular meetings and maintain ongoing communications related to programming.
- Lead and participate in group meetings; prepare status updates as required.
- Attend industry and consumer events on behalf of SiriusXM, as needed.
Technical Skills
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Effective use of project management and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Monday.com, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite an asset.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Level of Education
- Post-secondary degree/diploma; Broadcasting, Media or Marketing preferred.
Job Related Experience
- 3-5 years of experience within the entertainment/media industry required.
