Patient Care Associate Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.)
• Help with feeding and meal setup
• Transport patients within the facility
• Monitor patients’ condition and report changes to nurses
• Ensure clean and safe patient environments
• Restock supplies and assist in room preparation
• Support nursing staff with procedures and documentation
• Provide emotional support to patients and families
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines

Patient Care Associate Qualifications and Skills

• Compassionate and patient-focused
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures
• Strong observation and communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment
• Physically able to lift and assist patients
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or PCA training program is preferred
• CPR certification may be required
• 0–2 years of experience in healthcare or patient support
