Patient Transporter Responsibilities and Duties

• Safely transport patients to and from various departments, including radiology, surgery, and discharge areas.
• Assist patients in and out of wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Transport medical equipment, specimens, and other items as required.
• Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of transport equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other departments to coordinate patient movements.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and patient confidentiality.
• Respond promptly to transport requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
• Document transport activities accurately and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

• Physical stamina to lift and move patients and equipment safely.

Education and Experience Requirements
