About the Role

Server Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Greet guests, take orders, and serve food and beverages promptly and accurately
• Recommend menu items, specials, or pairings to enhance the dining experience
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely order delivery
• Process payments and handle cash or card transactions accurately
• Maintain clean and organized dining areas, including tables and service stations
• Address guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism
• Stay updated on menu changes, restaurant policies, and food safety standards
• Align tasks with guest satisfaction and restaurant operational goals
• Communicate order details and guest feedback to team members and supervisors

Server Qualifications and Skills

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures
• Excellent proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and order management
• Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or customer-facing roles
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; no formal education required
• 6+ months of experience as a server or in a customer service role preferred
• Familiarity with food safety regulations (e.g., ServSafe guidelines)
• Proven ability to provide attentive and efficient service
• Certifications in food handling or responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS) are a plus
