Truck Driver Responsibilities and Duties

• Transport goods over local, regional, or long-haul routes
• Inspect and maintain vehicle equipment, including tires, lights, brakes, and fuel levels
• Safely load and unload cargo using proper lifting or securing techniques
• Follow delivery schedules and update route logs or e-logs
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding delays, traffic, or delivery issues
• Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies
• Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, inspections, and cargo delivered
• Ensure customer satisfaction through timely and professional service

Truck Driver Qualifications and Skills

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL – Class A or B, as required)
• Clean driving record with no recent violations
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal transport regulations
• Ability to use GPS and ELD (Electronic Logging Device) systems
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Physically fit and able to lift or maneuver heavy loads
• Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with required endorsements
• 1+ years of experience driving commercial trucks preferred
• Familiarity with vehicle inspections, DOT logs, and basic truck maintenance
• Experience with freight handling and delivery documentation
